Lot #

I admit to paying attention to powder lot numbers but not the rest.

After years of shooting and honing my marksmanship skills I have become adept at calling my shots so when I miss, it's me, not the rifle or the load. :( I'm the most limiting factor, not the equipment.

I like my bullets the same lott.
Powder needs to be tested jug to jug (8lbers)
i mix one pounder s together.

Primers and cases just made by the same ppl

Powder, definitely. Shooting 284 at 1K this Spring and in the 3rd string my POI was low and very loose. I had 2 8 lb jugs of 4350, bought them at the same time from the same source, didn't check lot #s. Ruined that day's score. Took over 1 grain more of powder from the new lot to dial it back in.

Lazy I am and got bit. Never again.

I record the lot numbers on all the loads. I record case lot, powder lot, primer lot, bullet lot. I record them on the label I print for the box, along with pertinent info like seating depth, velocity etc.

I once had a bad lot of primers, which damaged my gun, and by having the lot number, I was able to return them all to the manufacturer, who replaced them and paid to have the gun repaired.

Look at your competitor to the left, and then look at the one to the right, chances are if you are taking shortcuts, chances are they are not.
Dog eat dog world out there you know!

I don't compete. But powder lot is not negotiable. Not paying attention to lot changes will yield real, no BS, tangible suffering.

Bullets and brass I'm not as fanatical with.

And that is why I keep the lot number record of primers in my loads.

Yes, I do realize this thread is from one year ago! Lot: P01032601/3515118 from Lapus Brass, last 7 numbers are actual lot #? Have 3 that match 1st 9 digits but not last 7.

Yes for sure, you wanted a hobby you could enjoy, not another meticulous, tedious other job to drive you crazy.
