Lost P-Dog Hunting Spot Help!

Please help! I just found out the ranch in Kansas where I have been going for the past 2 years is not going to have a hunt for p-dogs any longer. I live in Eastern Missouri so would like to be able to find a place in Oklahoma or Kansas to P-dog hunt. I don't mind paying for the privilege.

Any help would be appreciated!

I feel for you I didn't go to Elkhart, KS this year to PD hunt, but I am looking for some areas also....I will try to keep you in the loop

Thats great, thanks. I have had some good shoots in Wyoming but with the price of fuel that ads another $500.00 to the bill on top of the 1st $500.00 for fuel. So I would really like to fond someplace in Kansas or Oklahoma or even Texas.

Try Landess Ranch in Guymon, OK. They have a web site. See what they say, and if they have any dogs. Last time I was up there the Plague had hit most of the towns and there wern't very many around. If not check out the Panhandle of Texas and see if there are any there. Check with the Chamber of Com. in some of the towns, they may direct you to someone who can direct you to a contact . . it is a run around but you may come up with something. . .

The Black Death has really put a bite into many of us Dog Hunters. The ranch I have been going to for years finally had it go thru there towns. So there will be no dogs for three or four years and certainly not in the numbers that make it worth the trip from Fla. To me and a couple of other gents there is nothing like hunting P. Dogs. We used to make a two week trip out of it. A coupe of years we took three weeks. Wow! Now that was trip and a half. Came home and I swear I went thru withdraw.

It might be worth the try to look into BLM land. Some places are now off limits due to a ferret. I swear that this ferret was planted in a town just to keep thousands of acres off limits.

There is a National Grassland in the SW corner of KS. I would start there. Then expand around to the small towns and contact the chambers of commerce. Shot with a man from CO once. He said he wouldn't leave CO ever again. Shooting was too good, but for non residents the fees were oppressive, surprise). VHA was located in OK at one time, the beginning. Might have some old timers with thoughts. There are 'dogs in NE, but nothing organized. Again, you have to ask around.,And there was a law requiring extermination by Nov 1 each year... Still many gun shy. Don't want law enforced at their expense...) luck
