Lost a former Mentor!

Just found out today that this past Saturday one of my former mentors, Gordy Linnell, had passed away. Several years ago I was able to work in his shop doing a lot of general repair work and muzzle brakes. He was always quite involved in NRA, and local shooting matches among many other shooting related organizations. He ran Northern Rifle Accurizing in Grand Forks, ND where he repaired and built custom hunting and target rifles. He loved working on old US military rifles, shooting and restoring them.

Sad to see another old timer gone!

Sorry to hear this, my condolences. Sounds like you were lucky to have crossed paths, everyone needs a good mentor.

Nice write up Spit,am sure you could've gone on .... which is,a heckuva tribute. The lives we touch,in a positive moving way is one of life's little pleasures.

Rest in peace to your bud.

Hey Spit, Gordy was one helluva guy for sure. There have been so many people that he has touched their lives. He was a font of knowledge, he always had something to try to get you on the right path. One of his passion projects was getting a youth shooting mentorship going in Grand Forks. He did so much for the shooting sports and our rifle range, Forks Rifle Club.

I love this video of him:

We are helping his family liquidate his die inventory from the shop on this link:

He touched so many lives, it really warmed my heart to see your post here.
