Looking to shoot PRS league

I'm looking at the following rifles to shoot some steel at PRS league night locally. 200 to 600 yd distances.
1) Savage Stealth Evolution 24" barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor
2) Springfield Waypoint 2020 in 6.5 Creedmoor
Any input on these platforms good and bad?

Agreed. Go shoot what you have and then decide if/what/when you want to upgrade anything. Make sure you like it first and then you can upgrade if/as your equipment limits your performance. PRS is a lot about shooting skills behind the sport, so building those is as important as the equipment and takes a lot of practice to develop.

Thanks for the replies!
I don't have a 6.5 Creed bolt rifle yet. I could shoot my 6.5 Grendel AR but want to have the right/dedicated equipment for the job. Around 2K, give or take.

I would recommend going to a match. Bring what you got and shoot. Most people will let you get behind their gear to get a feel and send a few rounds. Don't fall into the rabbit hole on gear. Get an idea of the stock/chassis you feel comfortable with. I prefer MPA chassis for PMS but you may not. The "production class" MPA BA PMR is a heck of a deal for $2200. However you can also build your own for a similar price. If you are already shooting 6.5, I would stick with it and skip 6mm (at least until you have shot-out a 6.5 barrel). Also lots of people start and quit PMS, you can find deals on "almost new" rifles.

Yup you can find some great deals on used rifles here and over at Snipers Hide. Barely used can save you money. Even half barrel life gone can save money if you can buy shouldered prefits for it.

Definitely figure if you like chassis or stocks before buying. I hate chassis feel and run Manners stocks on my rifles but all personal preference.

If you are a DIY guy you can buy an action like a Bighorn Origin and a prefit barrel and stock and put one together yourself. Can do it for that area you are in for price.

Thanks again. I did go out to the league shoot to watch, and decided to try it with my current AR in 6.5 Gren to start.
Everyone was super helpful and willing to help out a noobie.
I'll familiarize myself with the different chassis before dishing out the Benjamins.
More to come...

Fun throw together nice rifle.
Mack Bros EVO action
Trigger Tech Trigger
Urbanrifleman Wilson barrel and nut
KRG Bravo Chassis or Oryx
MDT has a new Chassis/Stock coming out this summer.

Check out Urbanrifleman's new build on the Mack Bros EVO action.
Title: Next Generation Varminter

Does the Evo take shouldered prefits or just the nut style?
I'm not sure. Bradley did a shouldered barrel on his.
I understand where you're going with this and I agree. It's nice to have actions that you can have a barrel spun up being shouldered without having to send the action off. More options are always better.

I was wondering as they are cheaper but I never heard a definitive answer if they can use shouldered prefits. A smith could install a shouldered barrel just like on a 700 and some smiths keep track of the action so they can spin up a barrel without the action after doing it once which is nice too. I just like having the shouldered as it's a lot easier. The Evo is $225 cheaper than the Origin so I guess it would be an end user choice just like the bolt face changes. Some need/like it and some don't.
