Looking to purchase new 6.5 Creedmoor Hornady brass.

Norma seems to be the only choice as far as availability right now.
Thanks for response- my searching found the same. Have some Nosler but with price differential wanted to try some Hornady. Have heard little to no bad reports about life of Hornady brass, very little about one brand being head and shoulders better than another.

They say the Hornady brass is soft and primer pocket don't last...

That's been my experience with the Hornady brass. Hornady fans get extremely aggitated and defensive then begin to tell me they have over 10 loadings on their brass with never a loose pocket any time I post it up. It's getting to be a fun pastime for me.

I've come to accept it "as a cost of doing business" that everytime I resize and prime my hornady cases I'm probably going to find 5-10% of them feel too loose to me. I mark the head of the loose ones, fire them one more time and trash them. I don't have any hard feelings about it but don't feel the need to deny it either.

I have over 100 once fired factory loaded cases that won't hold a winchester primer. I plan on trying to get a few firings out of them with CCI or Federals though. They appear to fit tighter.

I've had some rather heated responses on other boards concerning this matter.

I've got 100 new Nosler 6.5 Creedmoor I'm saving for a new barrel. I've only tried the Hornady and Winchester brass in my creedmoor so far. All the winchester and all but 100 of the hornady were once fired from factory ammo. I did buy 2 new boxs of hornady brass and got the same 5-10% loose primers per cycle I got from the once fired Hornady brass. It's been a while since I've loaded any of the winchesters but I think they were a little better than the hornadys for primer pockets.

I do have 50 .243 and 100 6.5-284 pieces of Nosler brass that have held up without fault through repeated firings so at this point my experience would say the Nosler brass has better primer pockets than Hornady.

6.5 Creed- are you using a gas gun or bolt? I get your point that those that love the Creedmoor don't want to hear about poor quality Hornady brass. You're the second person that has mentioned the loose primer pocket situation with Hornady. I have a 6.5 Creedmoor upper that I am looking for brass for. Cheap fodder probably is the way to go as much of it ends up hiding in the grass. Thanks for your info.

Bolt gun, Savage 11 LRH When those 100 plus cases wouldn't hold a win primer Savage said it was the Hornady brass, Hornady said it was a tight savage chamber/bore. It could be the gun I suppose but it shot too good to send it off. One of my employees had the same rifle only his was tight chambered and literally blew primers out. Mine was no where near that, just loose pockets on about 5-10% of the cases per cycle.

Thanks-hope you have better luck with another primer. I've only had a few blown primers, wolf and Tula, in a dasher. Sold them. Good luck with the Savage, I've got a bunch of them.

I've been getting along good with the CCI BR2's probably over 1000 rounds now. The CCI's work good in my load the only reason I haven't switched to the Federal Match primers is availability.
