Looking to buy a Savage Model 12 F Class in 6BR and question chamber dimensions

I read many posts and hear how much detailed specifications people know about their chamber. Since many of you have the luxury of the funds to have a custom rifle built you have reamer prints.
My budget (small) will only afford me the ability to get a savage if I want to have some 6BR fun. My question is how will I know my dimensions if I have questions on performance since
Savage doesnt provide this information.

Why not build your own?

A quick check of on-line prices show that you can get a Savage Target action and trigger for $575, a Boyd's stock is $109 and Northland Shooters Supply will sell you a Match Barrel for $300 or $339 depending on the brand you like. So far, you're right around a grand or a bit less. Of course, there's some shipping involved and you'll have to buy a "go" gauge and a barrel wrench. You also might want to get a few add-on options for your Boyd's stock.

You'll have to make a simple barrel vise, something you can do in an hour with a few dollars of stuff purchased at your local Home Depot. You will want to buy some Devcon or similar bedding compound, some masking tape, and a few other items. But you are unlikely to exceed the $1213 price Bud's charges for a Savage F/TR rifle.

Bottom line: You won't save a lot of money but you'll have some fun and end up with a better gun as well as a few tools which you'll be able to use in the future. This kind of "build" isn't much more complicated than changing a faucet washer or changing brake pads on your car. If you are at all handy and if you spend a bit of time researching how to perform the various steps on the Internet, you can definitely pull this off, if you want to.

Mozella us correct, Build your own off the Target Action. The action and barrel will be the easy part. A good stock will be the challenging part. I have looked until I'm blue in the face for a good stock using a target action in the shape I'm looking for and using all three action screws.

Go here for a target action stock http://scopeusout.com/custom-rifle-stocks/target-stocks/ he inlets for the Savage.
Quite a bit more than a Boyd's but they fit like a glove.

Finding a stock for the target action, especially at a reasonable price, is indeed a problem. I recently bought a Boyd's stock for a Savage model 12, which is inletted for a magazine even though I single feed this particular gun in a caliber not suitable for the factory magazine.

One solution for a target action would be to fill the magazine void and install a center bedding pillar along with some "fake" bottom metal to hide the hole repair. Another, of course, would be to find a proper stock, but they are not available anywhere close to the cost of a Boyd stock.

Frankly, installing a piece of wood using a filled epoxy would be child's play for anyone who has done any woodworking and/or composite work in the past. But it might not be everyone's cup of tea.

I have a Savage LRPV Right Bolt / Left Port chambered in 6mmBR with a 1-12 twist if you're interested. I wanted to shoot heaver bullets so I'm in the process of building a custom 6mm Dasher with 1-8 twist kreiger. The 6BR Savage LRPV shoots under .3 easily.

Weight is a big thing for me as at some of the matches they weigh you before you pay your entry fee. I've been thinking about using one of the Whidden V blocks for the 3 screw target action because the rear screw is so close to the trigger in a wood stock. Looks like a good way to go for rock solid bedding if I can make weight with it. I need to check with them and see how much it weighs. The second link has installation instructions if you click on the picture. Also I have to find a nice stock shape I like.

This build is for the 2016 season so I've got some time to shop for stocks. Barrel is ordered and should be done in January.
