Looking to buy a 110 volt Neck turning motor

I am once again looking into buying a motorized neck turning set up. Not sure if I want this type of set up or not, so looking for feedback from actual users.

Anyone have one they recommend? I don't want an IDOD. I would prefer one with a hand tighten chuck. This way I can chuck in the small or large primer pocket case holders.
Is it possible to have a motor that will spin both clockwise and counter clockwise? so you can use the motor to loosen the case holder (like I do with the drill)?
I would like the RPM's to be approx 300 - 500 rpm's.

I was thinking about something like this.

If you have built or have used something like this, and can give some feedback on what works or doesnt work, please feel free to chime in.

If you have one for sale, please let me know. I have never tried one of these and would like to see if it works as good or better than my current set up.

I've made a gear motor driven set-up to drive the cases for neck turning with a K&M unit. I mounted a Jacob's chuck so I could atttach various tools such as primer pocket tools, neck brushes, etc. It worked fine but not nearly as fast as the 21st Century powered lathe I later purchased. I then bought an IDOD. Out of all the units, I prefer the 21st Century powered lathe kit, no doubt. I have not turned necks in a while so I sold the IDOD at a fire sale price to free up counter space but will still keep the compact 21st Century unit just in case.

If you do go with a 120V gear motor, buy a 'inline' foot switch to turn the motor on/off. The power cord plugs into the switch that plugs into your power source...thank me later.;)

yes please. Some one else recommended the 21st century lathe, however, with my set up, I have 7 PMA turners already locked into place for me to cut necks. I need to be able to use those cutters with a motor drive.

I have never cut at 200 rpm... and my drill is supposed to be 500ish rpms. I have come very accustomed to that speed after turning 60K pieces of brass.

i also like the fact my drill reverses so its easier to break the case holder lose.

I think my motor turns at 180rpm. Yes, reversing the drive would be a nice feature; my unit does not do that in the current configuration.

Benchrite Case Lathe......Like Dean said.....I have been using one of these for a number of years. It is a " Top Shelf " piece of equipment.....But it is one of those " Buy Once Cry Once " situations....

Rick

I like the design. I like the weight.
I like that i can situate this the same direction I normally sit my drill.
Are the rpm adjustable?
I heard this was 220 rpm's.
I don't think that's enough. I turn around 500 rpm's.

I'm using the 21st Century lathe but with a twist...... yep that's me. LOL I use the PMA neck turner with the lathe as the motor, I love the 21st Century except the depth adjustment, I wish they would fix that but for now I removed the cutter/blade and just hand hold the PMA, works great.

Can you send me some pics of your set up?
What is the speed of the motor?

I have one of those PMA/Benchrites I will sell.

It works great. I used it with the PMA neck turners and got very good results with it. I no longer turn necks. I have some neck turners I will sell, too.

KISS METHOD I chuck my brass directly into a variable speed rechargeable drill. If there is something better.....

I built that quite a few years ago. The motor/reduction is a Dayton and believe i ordered from grainger or zero for under $200

Since you prefer turning at the faster rpm’s have you considered a small drill press?
You could put the case holder in the chuck and hold the PMA turner in a wooden hand screw vise floating on the table. Like this but without the second clamp.
