Looking for suggestions

I am considering the purchase of a Savage 12 Benchrest in 6BR. Knowing full well the can of worms I'm opening, what does this esteemed group suggest as to a mid-price scope and all the other nesassary gear needed. Is the Savage a no-turn neck?

Do you hand load ammo, and have your equipment and components on hand?

They are a no turn neck. Sightron SIII 10-50x60 Target Dot can be had for about $850.00. which I consider mid range in price. There was a time when I thought the cost of the Sightron was high dollar.

Yes, I handload. I will need dies,cases, etc. Also, if it matters, my club's range only goes out to 200 yards.

I have had a savage model 12 in 6BR , standard factory rifle and it is a very excellent rifle
i have it setup with
a: sightron 10-50 scope
b: shoot standar lapua BR brass with berget 105 VLD bullets and it shoot incredible.
i have also a custom 6BR rifle: bat MB action, krieger barrel
i must admit that my custom rifle does shoot tighter groups and has no fliers compared to my custom rifle.

only findings i find is that:
a: my savage loves to be shot not cleaned during matches: i can shoot up to about 90-100 rounds before cleaning
my accuracy will drop if i clean during matches

you will not likley go wrong with the model 12 in 6BR, it is a great shooter.
my good friend also bought the same rifle and it too shoots quite well.
i am still very amazed at how well this savage shoots considering it is a bone stock factory rifle.

i can tell you it is an excellent rifle.

took me less then about 100 ronds to get the rilfed dialed in , and since i bought it less then 1 year: i now have about 970 rounds down the barrel
it simply shoots well

in a more seasoned shooters hand: i bet you my rifle will shoot better then i am currently shooting

if your club onlt goes to 200 you might want to consider a 30 BR, just a thought
