Looking for some prairie dog hunting in West Okla or SW Kansas?

My and my buddy are looking to do some prairie dog hunting in western Oklahoma or across the boarder in Kansas. I am happy to pay a tresspass fee to a rancher. If you have any good contacts, please let me know, it would really help me out. Thank you, Brent

I contacted the game wardens in the KS offices in wester ks, got the p;hone number form State office, and they gave me leads to ranchers/farmers with dogs.

After spending the week on the phone talking with the game wardens on the three western counties. I have come to the solution the dogs are WAY DOWN. They have been without water for over 260 days and was told they were the dryest place on earth last month. Most of the dogs did not have a litter this year and if they did they did not make it. Also they say the plauge took a huge hit on the ones that were left. I called a few men who said thier towns were completly knocked out.

With saying all that....Two game wardens suggested I call one young guy. They said he works for the coop and knows everyone and is single so has all kinds of time to scout around. I called him and he said he has several places to shoot. He stated a guy could very easily shoot 400 - 500 rounds a day. "dogs would not be a problem". He charges 60.00 for a access fee to the property. Sounded good to me and the game wardens said he is a good guy. If you need the info let me know. Brent
