looking for pics of rear bags with angled ears

If you shoot short range benchrest and are using a rear bag with ears offset so that your bag sits outr to the side to rest your wrist on, can you share a few pics with me? I can't seem to search for anything.

I just got a new SEB NEO, and want a new rear bag and think I want one of these.

Hi Wes

I know I hate it when I post a specific question and I get a bunch of answers that read my query as "what [insert product] should I buy?". So I apologise in advance for doing exactly that.

I have used a Neo in 100/200 BR group for over 2 years now, and though that whole time, I have used an Edgewood Gary Sinclair bag. I really like the set up, and tracking of all my BR rifles is excellent with this system. I am happy to post a photo of this if you are interested.

I never liked the idea of an offset bag (though admittedly I have never tried one) because I like to use the straight edges of the rest and bag to make sure everything is squarely aligned when I set up my bench. I think alignment is very important, and find that with limited time between target changes that I am sometimes struggling to get my bench set up as it is.

Anyhow, sorry for entirely failing to answer your question.

Wes,
Thanks for choosing the NEO rest for your shooting needs.
We make both straight & twisted ears, but the twisted ears only applied on the large (Bigfoot) bag. You don't want twisted ears on a small/regular bag.
We also make various spacing between the ears, from 'zero' up to 3 inches wide. And various bag height from 2 up to 5 inches.
Our new bags are guaranteed to not leak and will last for years.
Contact Ernie if you are interested in one.

I am sorry I can't find photo showing the offset/angled ears in my files....seb.

Fergus,

Thats for your info. The reasoning behind me wanting an angled bag is just like Sir-Mix-alot says... " I like big bags and I can not lie" (That is what he said wasn't it?)

I like the heavy bags so that they are less likely to move. but I think a big bag may interfere with the joystick. I am extremely new to the joystick. I shoot very slow, and the people I have learned from say I need to get faster. I was hoping the joystick can help me do that.

I have a big DR protector bag I use with my windage top, and I will most certianly use it to get the SEB set up. But I like the idea of having 2 complete set ups since my 13 yr old son is just starting to shoot.

SEB,

your rest is AMAZING..... the detail and craftsman ship is incredible. I am glad I was able to get one.
If I figure out that a bag with twisted ears is right for me, I will most certianly give Ernie a call and order what I need.

Hi Wes

Just for reference, I am posting a photo of my bench set-up. What I like about the Gary Sinclair bag is that it is very stable, has a decent weight to it, but is not too big or heavy. You can see in the photo that there is no interference at all with the joystick on the Neo. Even with my Terry Leonard stocked Bat rifle that is a couple of inches shorter in the forearm still comfortably clears the joystick.

Learning to shoot fast is definitely worthwhile, though shooting fast is not always the answer in my opinion. I certainly find I can shoot fast when I need to with this bag / rest set up.

If there is any negative with the GS bag it is that it is a little too wide for some, though I have only found it to be an issue when my son sits behind the rifle. For any adult it should not be an issue.

Wes, trust me the wrong handle & bag work very-very well for him / Fergus. ;) It's hard to beat him when he is in tune. ;D
