Looking for pet loads 53gr VMAX

I just completed a 223 build using a CZ 527 and 1-12 pacnor sporter barrel, would like to try the 53gr VMAX, if you have any load info you would be willing to share, it would be appreciated, thanks and hope you all have a Happy New Year!

Though I have never used them in .223, with 1-12" being listed by Hornady as the minimum twist rate for the 53-grain VMAX, I wouldn't buy too many until you try some. If they don't work, try the 52-grain ELD-M. They work great in my 1-14" .22-250. Good luck in your quest.

Mark, I have a CZ 527 with factory barrel 1-9 twist. I've been playing with different loads for the past couple of months. I've tried H-322, H-335, Benchmark, 8208, Varget and N-133. Keeping in mind this is a factory barrel I have found that the N-133 is giving me the best groups. I'm loading 24.8 gr. of N-133 and a 52 gr. FB Bart's bullet. It's shooting around .5 moa at 100 yards on a calm day. Keep in mind this is a bone stock rifle and yours will probably do better. Start low on the N-133 and work up.

My savage likes 25.5gr of AR-comp with the 53gr vmax. Easy 1\2moa and drops coyotes in their tracks.
Edit:
Hornady brass
Remington 7 1\2 primer
1.965" BTO

Shooting the same load of CFE 223 almost max load out of both a Howa1500 and Savage M12 both 1-9 twist and pleased with the results. Furthest I've shot is 200yds would love to tell you sub MOA, but I'm not that good a shot as I seem to pull at least one of 5 to open the group. Have had multiple sub MOA at 100yds. Should be interesting with your twist good luck.

8208 and the 53 V-Max do very well in my XP-100/223 coyote rig.Its a 12 twist and my hunting load is flat enough for the same hold at 100 yards out to 400,very pleased with this bullet.
Matt

I've had good luck with the 53 V-Maxes & Varget powder. Both in my Remington 700 5R, 1-9 twist, & an older Savage 1-9. Both shoot these bullets very well. They are my favorite Ground Squirrel bullet!!!! Idaho-45

53’s with 25-25.6 of AR Comp is my favorite. My go to load is 25.4 grains. Shoots great at 3400fps in my 26” Savage and 3000fps in my 16” varmint ar truck gun. Savage is throated pretty short so mag length using my stainless ar mags work perfect for both.

53 gr V-Max over IMR 3031 at about 25 grains depending upon your particular choice in components. I shoot them out of a 26 in Criterion varmint wt with an 8 twist, and 26 inch Savage 12FV with a 9 twist. Those stupid cheap bullets will cut really tiny groups, and pop 4 inch clays at 500 yds with ease, even in windy conditions. No doubt the excellent B.C. is helping.

Right around 28 grains (28.1 grains is what works for me) of BLC-2/WC 846 will get you 3,300 fps+ and my .223 bolt guns shoot very small groups with this load. Pretty mild load, pressure-wise.

Lapua Brass
Federal std SR primers
53 V-Max
23.0 Grains LT-32
2.255 col
With your 12 twist I would shoot the 50 Zmax
Best load you will ever shoot!

I'm using 22.0 grains of RL-10x with the 53 v-max in my 9 twist .223 ... very good accuracy but speed is only about 3050fps.
I'll take the accuracy over speed any day though...:D

I tried the 53 vmax in my 1:12. 26” Shilen. .223 and it wouldn’t shoot very well- friend a number of powders and seating depths. I tried the 53 nosler varmageddon and get 5 shot groups in the 1/2 MOA or better- 25 grains of benchmark, Lapua brass, Fed gm205
.005” off the lands

I completed load development for a Remington SPS Tactical about a month ago. The charge weight is above Hornady's max, but the bullet is seated further out as well. I have no pressure signs, but work up to it. 25.5 Benchmark @ 2.260" OAL shot a 0.5 MOA group at 100 yards, but the velocity spread was 80 fps. 26.0 Benchmark @ 2.270" put 5 shots into one hole with single digit ES.

Remington SPS Tactical .223
20" 1:9 TBAC 7 silencer
Brass: Lapua 223 Match
Primer: CCI-400
Powder: 26.0 Benchmark
53 grain VMAX seated to 2.270" OAL
3252 fps

https://load-data.nosler.com/load-data/223-remington/ shows 26.5 Benchmark @ 2.260" as max for their 53 grain.
