Looking For Gunsmith (Dogtown Varmint)

I have found a 22 PPC that is an awesome rifle. It has Dogtown Varmint stamped on the barrel. I'm trying to find the original gunsmith to ask him questions.

Re: Looking For Gunsmith (Dogtown Varminter)

Y'all correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are long gone. My 1st complete custom was a 22-250AI by them (if we're talking the same outfit). They were located in CA??

It originally came in pretty screwed up, sent it back with a letter itemizing all the problem areas. They fixed it & sent it back, all was good after that. Mine is a 22-250AI with Hall action, Hart barrel, Jewell trigger in McM HBR stock. I weighted it up for balance & ended up around 15#. It is a dream off the bags.

If you can post some pics, you might get some help identifying the components.

Yep, long gone, unfortunately. They were one of the first dedicated varmint / predator shooting entities. Sold lots of bullets, brass, and accessories. Also built dedicated varmint rifles. A buddy had one done ( also in .22-250 AI ) but unlike the other poster, his was sweet from the get-go. They were good to deal with. Still have one of their coffee mugs, somewhere.
