Looking for Good Gunsmith in Southern California

Hello all, I am looking for recommendations for a good gunsmith in the Southern California area. Looking to get a 40X re-barreled to a 6 Dasher.

Any info would be helpful.

Try David Ransberger at Cal Customs in Fallbrook or Duncans Gun Works in San Marcos.

Another member on this site listed this guy http://www.klstottlemyer.com/klstottlemyer.com/Parts.html I used him to thread a barrel and install a muzzle brake. He did an excellent job. Charged a low price. Did the work within a couple of days. However, his website states as of July 14, 2013, he is no longer accepting work. If I needed something done, I would wait for him to become available.

I used Duncan's in San Marcos for two projects. One project they took 9 months, and they did an excellent job. The other project, I asked for my rifle back a year later and nothing had been done. I like the store and the employees but I am not the only one who has commented on the length of time that Duncan's gunsmiths takes to finish a project. If you use them, I highly suggest that you get them to commit to having the project done by a certain date.

Chesebro Rifles in Tehachapi was MT Guns gunsmith for years before he opened his own shop. Long history of superb match rifle smithing. I have had half a dozen actions barreled by Mark as every one was outstanding. I definitely recommend him.
