Looking for another 1st Gen Colt SAA

Butch
Clearly not what you’re after but I do have a new unfired 3rd gen colt saa. Nickel in 45LC. Ivory and original grips. Good luck with your search. I’m sure you will find something. Merry Christmas

Arty Model, eh? My Great-grandfather served in the Spanish American War. He and a cousin hiked a freighter to St Louis to join up with Teddy Roosevelt at a whistle stop. They signed up for three years thinking they would go to Cuba. Fine print "at the Army's pleasure" and ended up in the Philippines. Those puny 38's were worthless he wrote home. Had his folks go to the general store and buy him a "Colt's pistol" in 45 and ammunition, and send it to him. He told my Grandfather the Moros' would come screaming out of the darkness with a bolo. Guys would empty one of the 38's into a Moro and he would live just long enough to chop their head off. The SAA would would make them backflip dead on impact.

Good luck with finding an Arty with matching numbers.

PS: if you give up I have a Bisley I might sell.

Shoot me info, pics, and price on the Bisley. I don't know much about them.

Unfortunately, his worthless son took a nice 32-20 with 7 1/2 barrel and had a local blacksmith (could not have been a real gunsmith) convert it to 38 Spl. It is a 1st Gen, all the Bisleys were IIRC. I sent pictures to Colt several years ago when their Custom Shop did restorations and they quoted me close to $3000. It shoots, but needs a tune up.
I have not been able to get pictures to post here for some reason, but if somebody wants to PM me their Email address I can send them there. Computer Illiterate...
