This may sound silly but where is the "OLD" place?

Fuel costs and overall inflation stopped me from taking the wife out West to hunt this year. May never get out again. I also need a new place but close to south Florida. Would need a pet transplant.

Between poison and plague they are getting harder to find. In the 70's, I walked 1/4 mile. In a couple of weeks I will be driving 800 each way.

While I know nothing about this company, Ultimate Prairie Dog Hunting, they do have a list of different outfitters for prairie dog hunting. I've seen them mentioned on other hunting sights.

A couple of years ago, I hunted sage rats with an outfitter in Oregon, No Off Season. This was one of the best varmint hunts I've ever been on. For the price of the hunt, it includes a guide taking you out to the fields and also spotting for you when needed. Guide, benches and rest are also provided as well as a good lunch.

I've hunted prairie dogs the last two years and may go back to Oregon next year. From where I'm at in Tennessee it's a solid 2 day drive to Wyoming for prairie dogs. It's even further to Burns OR.

For those that have used a guide service who do you like?

Been going with Bad River Bucks and Birds in S.D. the last few years. Stopped because of health issues. Their fee includes room and board and an open bar. Good food too.

The Old place was near Eagle Bute SD.

I thought you could shoot swamp rats in Florida.
