Looking for a mid-'90's Precision Shooting article on ammonia bore cleaners?

I was talking with a certain Bloke who uses Sweet's to clean his bores and mentioned that I stopped using ammonia-based cleaners after reading a very enlightening article in Precision Shooting, sometime in the mid-'90s, about why ammonia was bad for bores. I promised to send him a copy of the article. Now, I'm finding that the annual indexes are of little use because many of the articles have very generalized titles (e.g. "Random comments on internal barrel dynamics") that make it hard to pinpoint the article I want. Does anyone recall the article I'm thinking of? Can you remind me of the issue? Thanks.

Surely its not that bad because i dont know of any top shooter that stopped using it even 30yrs later. I havent seen anybody using sweets since then though so it may have had some effect.

I used ammonia based solvents for many years and did not experience any negative affects on the bore if used properly.

However I found a better alternative - Bore Tech products - more effective for carbon and copper removal without the toxic affects and odor of ammonia.

I still use Sweets as an accelerator. It provides surfactants which help lubricate the brush process and help to break down copper quickly and safely, I don't care to spend any more time than necessary on my cleaning process. After two patches with Sweets I use Bore Shine on my brush and then neutralize any ammonia with a patch soaked in peroxide at the end. I've been using this method for about 25 years and have not seen any bore damage. I have a bore scope and without a doubt there has been no damage. My 30 BR has more than 2200 rounds with this method and I have several 6PPC's that have gone the distance of 2000 plus rounds with this cleaning method. By the way my 30BR bore like new and as of yesterday it's still looks like new, that's a testimonial to the cartridge itself. I will look through my PS articles and see if I can find this.
