Looking for a measurement on a 6mmAR

Those shooting a 6mmAR could ya post what the measurement is roughly from the case head to the shoulder line?
The 6.5 Grendel says 1.151. Thanks

If you're referring to the shoulder/body junction, it should be in the same location as the Grendel. The 6AR is a an unmodified 6.5 Grendel, necked down to 6mm.

I just noticed the 6ar pic can't be entirely accurate because of the neck/shoulder dimension can't be quite the same due to it being necked down, but the rest of the case should be identical, below the neck. Mike Ezell

Ya I measured this go gauge from bottem to shoulder body junction and it's 1.230!!
You can't do that and get a meaningful measurement...but the measurement that you get, can't be longer than the actual cartridge will measure to that point, either. Something is wrong. Maybe it's a Turbo or Turbo 40°. I don't know how much forward they are, but the shoulder is farther forward on both and the 40° obviously uses a 40° shoulder instead of the 30 that the Grendel, AR and Turbo share.

I think you'll be happier with that anyhow. I shoot a 6mmAR but it will be a fat rat/t40 after this barrel. From what I can tell there aren't any negatives to it compared to the straight 6mmAR.

My barrel is 24" instead of the more common 26". I run right around 2700 with Nosler 105's. The fat rat and turbo 40 seem to be about 200fps faster out of the 26" barrel. The fire forming loads seem to be plenty accurate for varminting or 300 yard distances in competition. I got an extremely good deal on this rifle used about 18 months ago, or I would've gotten the fat rat. Unfortunately, a lot of my load development has been stymied due to the powder shortages. The popular powders, h4895 and rl15, have been the hardest to come by. 6mmar.com has some great information on the straight 6mmar and the improved versions.
