Looking for a gunsmith that will make a barrel from a phone order

Kelbly was on Youtube saying that if you own one of his actions you can order a barrel over the phone and they can make you a barrel and send it to you, you screw it on and it will headspace perfectly.
This is what I want. I want an action maker/gunsmith that can sell me an action that I can order a new barrel over the phone. They make it. Send to me, and I screw it on.

I have a 40x action now and I love it. I switch barrels now, but to get a new barrel chambered I have to ship it off and wait in line. I do not want to do this anymore.

Any recommendations?

Any smith that has worked on your particular action before, and had the foresight to write down all the measurements that need to be taken will have no problem setting up a new barrel to your receiver..

Nope.

First off, we're not talking about a cnc machined custom action...we're talking about a Remington action that may or may not have had work done previously. If it's been trued, and you can furnish the action blueprint, a barrel can be cut to work properly to those dimensions or you can send a barrel to be duplicated from. That said, many smiths don't trust someone else's measurements or that they cut the previous barrel to their standards. That leaves the other option, of sending the action to the smith. That doesn't mean that one smith is better than the other, based on being able to spin a barrel without an action. --Mike Ezell

Preacher has the best answer. I take careful notes on any action that I had my hands on and document them to the serial number, so that if I have to make another bbl for that particular action, the action is not needed if the owner is prepared to spin the bbl on himself.

Aint gonna werk. Nuff funniness....... ANY barrel precut needs to be torqued and headspace checked. Headspace can be achieved by loosening or tightening the barreled action. Torque down a precut barrel, check dimensions, cut accordingly.

Of coarse it can be done, simply by working from a blueprint. Precisely machining a barrel to a set of specs is not a problem at all, and is in fact how they're all done. Attaining an accurate blueprint of the individual action is why the action is needed. A smith can also duplicate your barrel tenon and chamber from the old barrel. That method doesn't make any corrections that may or may not be needed. It simply duplicates the old barrel's dimensions.

I never knew that you could adjust the headspace by loosening or tightening the barreled action, ya learn sumpin new every day around here 'O)

That one had me rolling on the ground here. Heck now I know how to fix the tight headspace on my 308 I'll just loosen it.

Remington barrels with a rem nut that allows you to head space the barrel with a go gauge.
