Looking for a good load for 7mm. Rem. Mag

Projectile will be Barnes 140gr. TTSX BT through an old Savage 110 23"bbl. with 1 in 10" twist. I'm finding some contradictory info in different manuals so I'm looking for personal experiences. Thanks group, James

Ive shot the 140TTSX and it is absolutely deadly on Deer out to 500+. Thats my limit for my 7mm mag rifle/scope set-up, but the TTSX will kill past my limit. The 1/10 will be just fine.

I had good luck with R19. Very accurate. Also IMR 4350. With the lighter bullets the medium burn rate powders were more accurate in my rifle. Now I did not have good terminal results with the 140 TTSX. It’s a very dense bullet with a high SD. Blew right through several deer with no evident hydrostatic shock. They ran a good ways. Literally looked like they were shot with a broadhead. I have had much better terminal performance on deer with ballistic tips.

Thanks WEL. H1000 is listed as optimum in some books but is said to be too slow burning in others thus my confusion. Where I hunt is lead free so if there's a better lead free bullet I'd be interested.

Have had good luck with the Barnes LRX 145 and a couple scoops of IMR- 4831, after a powder charge ladder test I'm at all shots touching at 3000 fps.

I've run IMR 4350 for 40 years under 150 Nosler Solid base, then switched to 7828 in the last few under 168 Berger VLD hunt. Both powders were excellent (hunting rifle, 3 shots under 1/2 MOA) over CCI 250s.

I am running 62.5 grains imr 4350 with a nosler e tip (lead free). Produces 2988 fps with a SD of 8.
