I am looking for a competent gunsmith who can extend the magazine of a Remington 1917 action to accommodate .404 Jeffery cartridges. The work involves, as I see it:
1.- Extending the internal length of the magazine by removing the front wall and welding it to the forward end of the magazine box, so tha it will accommodate loaded rounds. I can provide 1 or 2 dummy rounds for this.
2. Milling approximately 0.100" from the action and the bottom metal to accommodate the extended the magazine.
3. Polishing as necessary to ensure reliable feeding. The rifle feeds effortlessly in its present single shot mold.
If capable and interested, please send me a PM.
Thank you in advance,
Joaquin aka Arizonajake
