Lookin for some insight

I am considering tinkering with a chambering of say a 454 necked down to 22cal or 20cal. I know of a company that will chamber the 22/454 but they have not done one? I am wanting to use it in an Encore platform and was wondering if anyone out there has had any experience with it? Like velocities, barrel lengths, load data etc.

Any help would be appreciated!!

Thanks
Kapac

Simpler to just chamber it in 22 BR which would likely be more accurate, easier to find components for, the brass would be higher quality, and in general it would just work better.

I wouldn't really want to take on reforming a .454 pistol case to .22.

It would make sense except a few things, like I already have brass (over a 1000 pieces), dies (I would still need a forming die and some neck bushings)

The fact that a company who can do it never has should tell you something. I vote 22BR or even 22PPC since you are willing to form brass.

On the other hand if someone had not been willing to try, there would be no 6PPC.

The 22br and 22PPC did not come around due to people saying "why not the 220 swift?" I can not answer the original question but I say if you want it do it.
