long range scopes

How bout something >20x with enough MOA of adjustment, External adjustable turrets, fine crosshair, second focal plane, meeting your weight requirements and price range..

On my field 223 i have a B&L elite 4200 16 power $400
On my 308 and 6mmbr i have a S&B 5-25x56 $2800

It all depends on what you want, your budget, and type of shooting, Crosshairs, Focal plane, Mills or Moa,etc.. Benchrest and hunting/tactical scopes are both great for long range but serve two different purposes.

not looking to buy was just curious to see what you guys were using out that far .i use a leoupould 20 x with varmint reticule .

Mine are all used past 400...and range from a 4.5-14 leupy to USO 3.8-22 to 12-42NF

Unless you have to see bullet holes, or pick out a prairie dogs head, 14x will deal with 400yds with ease...heck, 10x would.

For hunting and paperpunching, I like to have lots of power,25 power) in a variable power scope. There's no reason why you should'nt have that much power. You never know when you might need it. Think of it as a spotting scope, when you just can't tell with your bino's.
