Long Range Rimfire Matches

Am looking in to participating in long range - out to 250 yards - rimfire matches. I have a Remington 37 with a Redfield 3200 20X scope and looking for ideas on how to get it set up for this distance. The match I'm looking at will have targets starting at 60 yards then going to 246 yards. Ideas welcome!

Thanks

With a 50 yd zero. You will need to come up 32 minutes to 250 yds. do a tall paper test and see if the scope will come up that far. If not look at a Bushnell engage 6-24X scope. They have parallax down to 25 yds. And then enough elevation to go out farther. Beware of scope that only go down to 50 yd parallax. They may actually only go to 55-56 yds.

Or get a pair of Burris Signature rings and the extra-cost inserts. Sig. Airgun/Rimfire rings for grooved receivers, Sig. Zee rings for Weaver/Picatinny. With 2 sets of +/- .020" inserts you can get up to 40 MOA more elevation with no scope change. +.020" and -.010" will get you 30 MOA, all depending on ring spacing. Alternatively, you could buy a Picatinny rail with built-in elevation. Just specify how much extra you want. I think the highest ones I've seen get you 30 MOA extra, but I'd guess more might be available.

Thanks for the replies - I need stay with my Redfield scope as the 37 uses mounting blocks with one on the barrel and one on the receiver. Not set up for action mounting only. I have used Burris Signature rings with inserts before in fact I have a bunch of inserts laying around and would just need rings.

If your scope take the Lyman and Unertl style scope blocks, a guy named Steve Earl makes them in different heights. A set of them should allow you more pitch to the scope like using a MOA rail does for modern scopes.

I just checked Steve Earle’s website and it looks like they have just what I’ll need. They have blocks for my 37 in various heights, they also have rings just for my Redfield 3200. I’m getting excited about this long range 22 stuff!
