Long Island or Northern New Jersey Serious Benchrest Shooters

Wondering if there are any seasoned Benchrest shooters on Long Island? Maybe Northern New Jersey?

I have three new custom rifles, Lapua factory ammo, all the high tech cleaning supplies that I have been told to get, serious front rest, bags, spotting scope, cleaning cradle, bore guides, Dewey rods and misc. stuff I have been told or read that I should buy, but I have no experience other than shooting regular hunting rifles over the years. My home club is Maidstone Gun Club in East Hampton, New York and I am close to Calverton, that some just refer to as The Sand Pit. Would love to meet up with someone knowledgeable to shoot with an learn more.

I work most weekends, so weekdays are the best for me, but I can be flexible and get to the range on a weekend if need be. I am going to attend one of Bob White's shooting clinics, but that is not until early spring and the Wilmington, 1,000 yard school is not until June.

The ONLY BR activities held in your neck of the woods this time of year is at Central Jersey Rifle and Pistol Club in Jackson, NJ. Go to their website and under events look up "Winter Benchrest". They typically run every other Sunday mid Oct. thru mid March. Matches start at 9 am. They run a combination of a two Group matches along with two Score matches. Or call Bob White.....I am sure he can provide more details as he usually attends.

A bench rest type shooter near Atlantic city NJ was needing a little help with chamber casting, as you could imagine the difficulty in getting help on the Internet, anyhow, I contacted him the old fashion way, I had him call me. I will try to recover the contact information.

Then there is another shooter near a town called Hauppauge, NY, that would put him near exit 54 on the L.I.E. .
