Not trying to distract from the original post but similar long range rimfire activity is available in Central Virginia for interested East coasters..

We have a group at our club, Izaak Walton League of Lynchburg Rifle and Pistol Club, that shoots rimfire PRS matches out to 370 yards. Contact David Hollon at impaaact.dh@gmail.com for information. Next match is June 8, 2025. I have only watched a couple of these matches have not shot in them. Dave is the match director and the source for information. The range is in Madison Heights VA.

Boss: I can post this in a separate thread if I have transgressed any rules or standards.
Your match deserves a separate post....

We had are first here at Tappan Hill BPCR inc range, weather was sprinkling 45* ,12- 20 + 2:00 winds, went well, but weather may have kept some folks away.
We made a few mistakes with our taget setups with the wind that day ,which made it actualy made it fun.
Our gongs were heavy and not spaced far enough apart for the winds. This a Silhouette range in meters,no berms at 300 yds, splashes were tough to see. The 8" gong was down wind from the 6 and 4,attempts on the 6" blew behind the 8" or hit the 8" , I think the 8 " should be first for the wind to hit or just maybe space farther apart when windy. We used a KYL setup,Hornady flashers were to sensitve mounted on KYL frame, seperate plates might be better.
Most of us here ,have shot ELR22 at this club and shoot NR22L,BR-50 and silhouette together at other clubs.
It is a great game for new shooters to share a rifle, bag and bipod. Since it is off a bench and static targets,no spotters,RH,LH,MOA,MIL,ffp and sfp all will work, benchrest rifles with a variable optics,f class type optics would work well with their thinner retical.
Since it was windy I used the 2 mil line for the 300y zero in my Cronus, wide wind hold and cleaner. I'm thinking a Golden Eagle,NF comp with an ERA-TAC next time.
The strategy. 4 pts seperated the top 4,.Staying on the 8" in these winds won it.
Good luck in Texas

April Long Gong match results.

We had an outstanding turnout with 22 shooters. It was a beautiful day to shoot, except for the wind being a little unfriendly. We had two shooters drive 3 and 1/2 hours from Oklahoma to come to the match, Tyler and Chris they both shot very well. Chris was our cold bore challenge winner he shot an outstanding opening shot but was tied by Drew so they shot again and Chris took it with another outstanding shot. It was also nice to see Wayne Reynolds with his daughter Maddie and son John shooting the match. Maddie had a good day. She took third overall and topped both the guys. Victor also came to the match and even let his dad Eddie shoot this time. They both shot well. Another father and son Duo was Jeremy and Steve Having a good day. Now for the results.

First place Senior vesperman with 45 points
Second place mikael vesperman with 36 points
Third place Maddie Reynolds with 35 points
Fourth place. Jim Martin with 31 points
Fifth place Wayne Reynolds with 29 point.
Cold bore winner. Chris Wilson

There were no easy points today. I believe the 4-in Target was only hit three times the whole day but we still had a blast and are ready to do it again.
Next match I will have three Banks of targets set up and another bench for shooters to use.
Next match will be June 22nd at 8:00 a.m. gate will open at 7. :00 and cold bore challenge will be shot then.
