Long BR's and case forming dies

The "lube/case dents" thread on the reloading forum prompted some discussion about case forming and the problems that can come out of that. Like Kodiak I've had some experience with a .300 long .22BR,figured I was the only one crazy enough to do that). I've made the cases from .243 Lapua brass with a set of Neil Jones case forming bushings and a die body that I made to hold them. This system works well but I'd like to hear others methods and results. How about it gents?

A year ago I started on a case forming project using 243 brass. The out come was to be a 243 short or a 6br long, the case capacity is about the same as the new 6.5x47 only with a longer neck. Many of the new cases looked like Tubbs cases. Collapsed shoulders. I had some old fired cases for a 243 that formed well, new once fired brass from the 243 worked even better. All this was done with dies that I have, nothing special. I borrowed some 243 lapua brass and in one pass had a well formed case. The brass from Rem and Win is smaller in the shoulder area then is the Lapua, allowing it to push out in the die and collapse. I tried several lubes that I had on hand and found that lee worked with the least amount of effort on my part, and no dents.
