long action rigity

I am having a 6.5x284 x 30' 1 1/4' straight barrel installed on a Savage long action and it was a repeater. looking for some tips to keep it a rigid as possible, I do have a Farrel one pc scope base, i figured this would help, the stock is pillar bedded and action is bedded, going to bed a 2 inch area of the barrel about 2 inches in front of the recoil lug, any tips to make this set up as rigid other than what I plan to do.

That one piece bridge mount should help. also a filler for the magazine epoxied in place. One old trick was a Half sleeve.
A piece of 1/4 wall aluminum that covered the top of the action . This half sleeve was then drilled and taped for standard mounts. John dewey made many for the 700 series years ago. I guess the idea has been forgotten.
Also a friend of mine made a half lower sleeve many years ago.
This is where the idea of the aluminum bedding system came from. Old Benchrest trick,s from the 70's and 80's.
I hope this help,s some . done properly it should shrink those groups.
also make sure the action is true. Every little bit helps .

I had this idea that when the barreled action comes back from the gunsmith, If I were to make a Stainless steel follower to precisely fit in the repeater opening, and tig it in a few spots. cooling it carefully after each tack weld, any benefits to this or harm!!!

This sounds almost exactly what I did. I used the farrel base to tighten up the top, and I epoxied a single shot follower into the opening for the magazine. It might not be the prettiest, but it served it's purpose.
