Lodi: F-Nats a Definite Success.

Nodak7mm

Team Lefse
A shout out is due to all the LODI people who worked/volunteered the Nats and especially the Liebetrau Clan & Brux Barrels!! I thank you for an Awesome first time "National/large" event experience!!

Secondly to all the great shooters/people I had the pleasure to shoot with and meet, share the line, the pits, shoot the bullpucky, and dodge the rain with. The F-Class shooters are among the best. Not many places you can find, heart surgeons, accountants, lawyers, machinists, farmers, CEO's, tradesmen, desk jockeys, scrap dealers, Canadians, Englishmen, young adults, old farts & even North Dakotans on a level playing field with one shared goal/dream and awesome camaraderie!!

I made lots of new friends, learned more in one week than a lifetime of surfing and reading can bring, and really had a blast..

Special shout outs to the Elk River gang, looking forwards to next year & next time we shoot together. To the Canadian contingent - "Eh"!

And extra Special shout outs to Bob "Viper" Pastor & Mike "Sunshine" Warner for a flipping blast and your extremely valued friendship, anyone who puts up with me in a camper for a week deserves a medal or sainthood.... And to Charles, a very talented & accomplished shooter from Denver who put up with the 3 of us and our adolescent behavior, thanks it was my pleasure!!!

Oh yeah, it rained a tish & blew a bit.......

Thanks to all I met!

Rod Vigstol in Fargo, Donchya know!!

It was great meeting you Rod, looks like you made it home ok.

Believe it or not but is dead calm and sunny in WI today.... go figure!

Had a great time, learned tons, and also met a lot of really nice people. The fine folks from the Winnequah gun club put on a great match.
It was great meeting both of you Rod and Jim, hopefully I will see you guys next year at a match or two.
Great shooting on Friday Jim, those were some crazy conditions I have never seen the vertical changes like that before.
Best regards,
Ben

Ben and Jim,

Back at you!! And Ben you hit the nail on the head, Jim was doing some serious steering and it was great shooting to watch. That boy is a force to watch in the future. He'll be one of them old bulls going to the podium every other time. You too for that matter, you & Adam certainly showed em "Minnesota Nice".

Thanks for being part of a great experience.....

Rod

Rod,

It was great time and fun to put a face with the name. I had a great time and learned a ton and like Ben said I've never experienced vertical like that before, wait let me rephrase unexplained vertical!! Lodi was humbling to say the least, but that's how ya learn.
Hopefully youll be able to swing on down to Elk River next summer, and maybe youll have a scope by then!!

Have fun in duh beet fields!

Later, Adam

P.S. There I posted

The verticle at Lodi is one of the reasons WI has no LR f-class high masters. You don't see it at every match but Friday was a good show of what it does to really good shooters. Some days a guy thinks he has it figured out and a day later it kicks your butt. Looking at all the flags can be information overload when it is a bit switchy, and the best advice I can give is it is better to know when not to shoot.

I had a great time meeting you guys, it's nice to put names to the faces. Ben and Adam shot great right from the get go.
I struggled right up to the last day, when I took my own advice.

I hope to see you guys at some matches next year, come down for a good two day match next summer and I can try and show you some things to watch for when it's more laid back.

BTW, I got my Master card in mid-range today in the mail. I guess I will see the HM card in another 2 months.

If you have never shot at Lodi I highly recommend shooting there. Club is first class, people at the club are friendly and people living in Lodi are super folks.

I would like to congratulate all the winners. Especially Jeff Rorer 2011 FTR winner, Team Sinclair, and Brad Sauve for his 600 yard National record. It sounds like the folks at Lodi also deserve a big thank you for your hard work.

284 win. with 180 gr. bullets was a popular cartridge in the wind. My 260 and the 6br struggled at 1000 yd line. Switching winds had me back n forth. Head winds popped up and down which would send shots high right. Rod, im glad Mike and yourself had a good time. I hope to see you 2 back for matches next year. Keith
