loads for 6x47

I've recently acquired an old 6x47,222rem.mag necked to 6mm)
and can't find enough info to handload. I can't find
suggested cartridge loaded lenghths, suggested starting points
for powder weights etc. I have 70gr. Sierra matchking bullets.
I don't know anyone loading for this oddball calibre as the 6PPC
killed it in the 70's. Help
thanks
Sandy

You didn't look far enough. Both the Sierra and Hornady handbooks have loads, and I'm sure others do as well. While it's true that the 6x47 is not the most popular cartridge around there are still guys who use it, even the occasional maverick who will show up at a real Benchrest match with one.

Ken Water's "Pet Loads" has a chapter devoted to the 6X47. Much good information, including dims., max loads, accuracy loads, etc.
My son has a little Sako in this caliber. We use Winchester 748 powder, and the Hornady 58 gr. VMax.
Look for some 6X47 Federal brass. Back in the heyday of this cartridge, Federal made a run of unprimed nickle brass properly headstamped, "6X47" for the benchresters..........
E-mail me at: Oldmodel70@aol.com for more information. Grant.

Hornaday,Cart.of the world,Wildcat Cart. book, Ken Waters,or you could use 6mm TCU data as a starting point,6x45).I have a 6.5x47 and just love the way it shoots, very mild recoil, and accurate to boot,It's my favorite 200yds or less deer pistol

I had 2 a light and a heavy for benchrest.
The reminton 40xbr test target had this load and it shot very well 26.5 gr H 4895 with a 60 gr sierra 7 1/2 rem primer in a rem case neck turned. Here is another one though old
IMR 4198 23.5 grs 68 gr detch bullet jumping .010
another one but slow was 29grs of H414 68 gr detch bullet.
Good luck have fun,
