Loads for .444 Marlin

I am going to use Hornady 265 grain bullets and Remington cases. I need data for possibly VithaVouri powder and possibly IMR 4198 or others that work well. Thanks.

received_775170412608232.jpeg In my single shot I use the Hornady 265 gr FP, Winchester LR primers, Starline brass and H4198 powder. Work up to 46.5 to 47.0 grains. This load, in my rifle, fires 3 shot groups under 3/4 inch (sometimes better) at 100 yds

H4895 & CCI #250 LRM gave consistent groups w/ charges in the middle to lighter end of the charge weight range (Hodgdon data) using Hornady 265gr & Speer 270gr in my Encore...The first deer I killed w/ that rifle was 257yds out. DRT.

Hornady 265gr FP

load up until the shoulder discomfort doesn’t justify the velocity gain.

I have played with the 444 for several years. My rifle shot the factory Hornady Superformance ammo great. Less then 1" at 100 yards. I shot those rounds over the chronograph and tried to duplicate it in my reloads. The bullet used in the superformance ammo totally destroys whitetails. Like seriously I've never seen so much damage before. I switched to the 270 grain Speer Deepcurl bullet and have had wonderful success with my load. I use RL-7. I won't post the charge weight but it's over the book max to get the FPS of the Superformance. No signs of pressure and I've been shooting that load now for over 2 years. Just had my rifle out Saturday and was banging 8" steel plates all the way out to 300 yards with it. I believe everyone should own a 444. It's one rifle that I will take to my grave with me. BTW, the 270 grain Speer Deepcurl's are dirt cheap. Makes shooting the rifle that much better.

Not mentioned yet, H322 is an exceptionally versatile powder over a large range of weights. Usually gives top velocities in most weights and fills the case well to help keep bullets from being seated deeper under recoil.
