it was hot but I loaded my new 260 build with some peterson brass, let's start from the begins it's a 260 rem 26in criterion barrel, with big bastard brake on a stock rem 700 headspaced tight on the go, with a Jewell trigger set at 7oz that's what it was from the maker. heavy palma 1n8 match chamber, loaded 44.5 grs re23 behind 142 smk with br2 primer, topped off with a Kahles 10x50moak krg stock leaded down in rear but I'm gonna maybe get the wt system for it, got 50 loaded will chime back in when I shoot some groups, starting at .010 off the lands. 1 test fire shot shoulders grew .002 close to what I was expecting, atlas bipod with arca rail mount for the krg, back to loading it was hot upstairs so I used my lee dipper 3.1 to charge cases lazy me but I may be onto something o_O

I shot mine today also, I'm using a bipod 1st time ever it's gonna take some gettin use to, but 1st 3 shots cut a hole then I was trying to figure out how to get back on target gonna get a squeeze bag, I kept trying to shoot like I was in a rest it don't work like that. The Big Bastard brake takes all recoil away it's like a 223 I love that part, it's gonna be a shooter no doubt

Is your Peterson brass large primer or small ?

I tried the small primer in my 260AI and with good results.
I tried to get a 260ai from northland but it was a 26wk wait, I'm glad your having great results.. the 260AI I use to shoot on a kreg barrel I used srp it shot well too I still have quite a few lapua brass for it and some loaded, that's why I tried to get the 260ai plus I don't have to trim brass or worry bout it

Imagine if Remington had done the AI to begin with?
You guys know probably know this thread but I did not.

that's a good article I think I read that bout 4 yrs ago and it prompted me to 260ai land, it's a great cartridge I think it's much easier to tune than a 65284

Yes a fantastic article no doubt. Got alot of good info from it.

I had ignition problems with my 260AI using small rifle primers in Minnesota when temps dropped below 20 degrees using 4831. Just sayin.
Winter temps here are in the high 50s low 60s. I don't worry about cold. We might get 3-4 nights in a row with high 20's as the low and a freeze warning gets issued.

Small primer and big charges in cold temps normally don't mix well.
