Load tuning

I have a 6BR Norma that is a good shooter and easy to find loads it likes. I'm curious as to how similar ,or not, the 6ARC in a bolt rifle would be in as far as ease of tuning is concerned. Your experiences welcomed.

The two I have worked with tuned just as east as a BR, while using IMR 8208 XBR- which is NOT my favorite powder out here in the desert by any means.

As with ANY of the little 6mm, if you get the depth right first , it’s going to be very agreeable.

Back in the day I had the 6mmAR built by Robert Whitley which is very close to the ARC and it was a breeze to tune.

Similarly to Clancy's post #2 above.....
I currently have a couple bolt actions in 6ARC and have shot out several 6BR barrels over the last 6-8 years. The ARC is very easy to tune. To me it's easier than the 6BR. As long as you are diligent in your choice of matching free bore to the bullets you intend to use due to the relatively short neck on the ARC. Bolt face diameter might need to be addressed too depending on your set up and extraction type. As a point of reference mine are 20 free bore and most 66gr -70gr seat about half way down the neck. It doesn't seem too fussy about what powder(s) it likes either. JME. Alpha and Peterson are our choices for Brass. WD
