load or gun info 300wsm please

have a custom 300 WSW with about 100 down the barrel with good barrel and trued action put together by a real good smith around here has made winning guns at the meets in st. Lewis and Virginia. i am having a fit trying to get it to group with anything heavier then 150to 155 in hunting bullets tried buggers but can only load to fit box and that is away from lands. shoots A max perfect one hole at 100 yd. but move to acc bond- burgers- sgk-nosler partition-or Barnes triple shock using superforance- varget- imr4352-imr4320-and rl 22 opens up to about 1 1/2 to 3 in groups . i know it is not that bad for a hunting gun but you stright it out to 400 or 500 yards and it is got this put togeather for my son for christman out of his off the sheft rem. that he had and it really is not doing that much better. any advice please on load work up. :'( from middle to top in .5 incerments and low end is better not even close to showing any pressure on high end. really want it to shoot 168 to 180. what can i try next ???????? thanks rick

I have a wsm that loves the 178-190 grainers but throws the 150s all over the place.
I can run the 190 vld up to the lands at 2.9" in mine. H4350 has served me well under the 190s.

thanks i have not tried anything over 168 have some 190 vld hunting i shoot out of 300 win mag will try that what is good starting spot with h4350 as i do not want end result will work up in 1/2g steps and i can not put anything longer then 2.855in the box thanks again rick. It is a selean with a 1-to 9 or 10 can not remember and smith does not eather

Your smith doesn't know???? Where is the barrel stub with all of the data on it.....bore...groove....twist...ect?

Shilen does not make a 9" twist, so it's probably a 10" twist. Try using the cleaning rod and path method to estimate twist. That is important information to answer your question.
