Load ladders.

Making some adjustments on my load for the Uintah bolt AR. Sort of different than most. Target poa is 1/4" dots at 100 yds. I like to run powder at .2 gn intervals initially for my load ladder.
What I do with my set up is , fire 3 shots at each dot horizontally with the listed charges and cool barrel between. Then I drop down to line 2 horizontal and repeat for verification. After that I will go do another target set for the .1 divisions. After powder charge has been established I repeat the procedure with different seating depth. Yep, you got it, I enjoy burning up powder, barrels and loading. Whatta Hobby!

Assuming you do this at 100yd? How do you select your winner? Group size or point of impact similarity across 2-3 charges? All of the above? I don’t do anything that close much anymore just because of what I have to work with. Just curious how others do things and is this for shooting at 100 or to be used at longer ranges after making all of your tweaks?

Point of impact and group size. With a goal of hitting the 1/4" dot on the first cold bore shot. Example of discipline I shoot. Score of 8-9 means first 8 shots were touching the 1/4" dot at 100 yds with next off and then #10 hit the mark again. It's really the 1st shot that counts in my game.Whatta Hobby!
