Need input for 125-155gr. to be used for hunting. Reamer was set up for .035 free bore so I should be able to use longer bullets. Hopefully it will like RL 15- RL17

Which 30X47 do you have? I have the one made by shortening the 300 Savage case. My rifle shoots IMR 4895 with about any bullet you put in it from 125 to 168. I use 42 grs IMR 4895 for everything. That is all I can get into a case and seat the bullet. It really shoots with 41 grs Varget with the 168 Sierra MK also. I really have not tried any other powders in this rifle because it shoots so well with the IMR 4895 and I got 32LB's of it cheep a while back.
For a varmint load try the 125 Speer TNT. My rifle really likes this bullet also and it comes apart on a hair.

I have killed deer with 150 Sierra Pro Hunters 2650 fps, 155 Berger VLD 2650 fps, 125 Nosler ballistic tips 2850 fps. The 125 Nolser ballistic tip is what I have stuck with. It really kills deer in their tracks. I killed a huge 9 pointer with it last year at 107 yards in a logging road between two cut overs. Dropped him in his tracks.

The rifle I have was bought from a widow of a benchrest shooter. He had this rifle made up in the late 1970's or early 1980's to shoot hunter class benchrest with cast bullets. He had only been to the range with it two times working up loads when he got sick and died. His widow just started selling off his stuff in 2003. The rifle I have is on a Ruger 77 action in a Ruger wood stock that has been bedded in Bisonite,SP?). It has a Canjar trigger and a 24' varmint weight CM barrel that from my cleaning road with a patch method of twist measurement is 1 in 12 twist. I do not know who made the barrel but it is a good one. My buddy that shoots local benchrest said that I could win most the bench rest matches he goes to with that rifle.

After I posted I saw that you have the 6.5X47 case blown out to 30 cal. I have no experience with that case.

30-47 based on savage and lapua brass are basically the same except for web is bigger on Lapua brass needing different dies and reamer for it. I am using VV135 in mine with a 130g bullet. Some guys also use the Win 748.
