Load for savage 12 f t/r

Hi all I would like a load for my new savage 12 f t/r to shot f t/r class would like to use 175 gr mk or bergers. Thanks Bill

With the Savage 12" twist, one of the best bullets is the Berger 155.5 FULLBORE. I shoot this bullet in a Pierce tactical with 26" barrel and obtain excellent accuracy. The load data is below.

Lapua brass, 55.7 H2O capacity
Berger 155.5 FULLBORE, seated -.010 @ 2.890 OAL, .002 tension
45.4 IMR 8208 XBR for ~2990 fps
CCI BR2 primer

This load is near maximum in my rifle, brass now on 14 loads and still usable. I anneal every three firings. Reduce loads by 10% or approximately 4.5 grains and increment while watching pressure signs. I hope it works as well for you as it has for me.
