Load Data needed for 243 AI

I am in the process of building a new 243 AI with a 1-10 twist barrel. Looking for varmit loads preferred 70gr but will appreciate all load data. If you can please include powder, primer, bullet and velocity if possible. Thanks

Good stuff on the .243AI here: http://www.6mmbr.com/243Win.html

Didn't know if you'd read the .243 article or not. Great articles on that home page.

48.5 grains of H414 with a 75 Gr V-Max. Win primer. Win Brass

I dont have my notes with me so I dont recall the COAL. I fiddled it the length until I found what shot best.

Rifle is a Model 700 VS with a rechambered 26" Factory 1 in 9.125 barrel. If I do my part it will shoot sub .250" groups.

I dont have a chronograph, So I dont know the speed. All I know is that bullet with that load is explosive on small critters.

85 Gr Sierra HPBT Game King, 51 grains of H4831cs, Win primer, Win Brass.

Very accurate!!!! Tiny groups!! One dead buck at 404 yards this past deer season!

Those are the only 2 loads I shoot through my rifle. I bought the rifle during the reloading component shortage, So I had to work with what I could find for load development. Now that the supply of bullets and powder has gotten better I will try some other loads.

I load 48.5g of Win 760 in a Rem case with a CCI-250 primer=3850 fps out of a 29" barrel, single bullet hole accuracy with 70's. Your rifle will probably be particular what it likes the best when it comes to a 70g TNT, Nosler Ballistic tip, or 70g Sierra.

My rifle did not like the 75g V Max, but it loved the 70's of all varieties.

Good luck!

My 243AI is a fairly typical SA Remington with a 9" twist Hart barrel. I shoot 105 - 107 grain bullets with a fairly mild load of H4831 SC (I would start around 43.5 grains or so and work up). I know the 9" twist should only marginally stabilize these bullets but the load shoots exceptionally well for me. I load to just touch the lands. Note: try some Wolf LR primers if you can get your hands on some.

i'm shooting a rem sps varmint in .243 ai. 1-9.125 twist. here is my load using 70 nosler b-tips. 49.5 gr of h-4350, fed 210m, hornady brass, o.l. 2.233. 10 thou of the lands. 3810 fps and very accurate in my rifle. .5 moa to 300 yards when i do my job.
