load data for 45-70?

The Hornady loading manual has three levels of loads for different guns. The trapdoor loads are the lightest. I’m not near my manual, otherwise I’d read some off to you. Do a search here and you’ll find several threads with many suggestions. The search box is in the upper right hand corner. Good luck!

If you want a ton of loads the lyman cast bullet manual has a quite a few. If you pm me your number i should be able to get you some info

63.5 gr. of 1 and 1/2 F swiss, 535gr Postell grease groove bullet with .030 card wad between powder column and bullet base. Kill 2 chickens and eat one. Use the blood from the other on the back side of your target backer.
Dont laugh, it works.

Twist in that Henry would never stabilize that Postell. Probably need to stick with the 300 to 405's. The other guys are right about the lyman reloading manual. Lots of excellent info on 45/70 there. I could take some pictures and send if you'd like.

Exactly what I was going to do.

The Lee book also has some great info on the cast tumble lube bullets .
If you need data get a reload manual and follow the recipes . Lots of questions . Is it for hunting . Is it for target . It's it for fun . How old are you ( recoil and shoulder issues as we get older ) have you reloaded before .
Cast or jacketed bullets . So , only you can decide and the loading manuals are a treasure of knowledge . I know nothing about the Henry's . My 45-70 loads would either hurt it or corrode it , hurt it would be 500 gr solids loaded for a few older Siamese 45/70s and the corrode it would be black powder loads for the many rolling blocks and trapdoors I shoot .
Do not try black powder UNLESS you completely under stand it's loading procedure . Ringed chambers and worst could happen .
Good luck
