Live pilot bushings for uni throater

I need to buy a bushing kit for a .224 uni throater.
The bushing it came with is too big and the 6 piece kits don't have the size I need and I don't really want to shell out $100 for the 15 piece kit at PTG for something that will be used a couple times a year at most.
Any suggestions on where to buy a 5 piece kit that is .218 down?
I guess the other option is to order individually; however,I don't have pin gauges or the proper micrometer to measure my current bushing accurately. I get .218 with calipers and I really need to stand on it to get a fit. Will .0002 make a noticeable difference?

Flame suit on. Feel free to blast me for some stupid ideas...
Can I freeze my current bushing to make it fit better?
Can I chuck it up in a cordless and reduce the diameter with some 2k silicone carbide sand paper?
Thanks

Call them and tell them your problem i will bet your problem will be solved . Larry

You're probably not getting the best measurement with a caliper.

Unless you specifically asked for a .2180 bushing you might not have got one.

You should be able to order a bushing kit in any size you want from PTG, at least you could in the past. What brand barrel is it?

And yes .0002 will make a difference.

Thanks boltman and Larry. I guess a call to PTG is in order next week.
The 6piece kit starts at .2182 up.
The 9 at .2180 up
And the 15 at .2174 up.
All I have is a tubing mic and don't think I can get an accurate measurement. Can .224s run smaller then .2180 after lapping?
Can't remember if it's a Krieger 4 grove or bartlein 5r. I can check tomorrow. Is there a general range of bushings for those two companies?
Thanks

Your welcome hope that works Larry

Being your own gunsmith costs, doesn't it? Micrometers, bushing sets, pin gauges........ There's about no end to it. There is no 'set' size per manufacture. Each barrel is a individual.

Ha! Ain't that truth!
Gotta start somewhere tho...

I didn't know grizzly had them. Thanks for that, I will place an order.
it's a center fire.
Man, I just wanted a reamer and die that matched multiple barrels. Lol, it's getting expensive. Dummy rounds for now on.
Thanks for the replies guys, happy holidays.
Eric

If you get any satisfaction calling PTG I'll be shocked. and btw, if they do sell you a bushing the shipping will be about $17.

I buy my bushings in sets from Grizzly.

My bushings have a .2185 mean and I have 3 on either side of that. Works for me, but I do have Deltronic pins in sets of 25 for each caliber that I chamber. My 22 pins have a .2185 mean and 12 on either side of that in .0001 increments.
