Little dandy

They are a pretty cool and accurate powder thrower --BUT --
Bushings are spendy, and you often will want one just slightly bigger or smaller than whatcha got.

I use mine mostly for pistol plinker loads where I can hit an acceptable level for a particular cartridge. In other words, where exact charge weight isn't important.

I do have three or four duplicate bushings that I'd love to trade to someone for bushings that I don't have. (anyone get ahold of me if interested).

It is also possible to hone a bushing larger to hit an exact volume for a particular load that you need, and I see myself doing this for a few in the future. jd

They’re ok. There was a guy on several other forums making an adjustable rotor. Otherwise you live with what you got and seldom do the standard rotors seem to give what you want. I just wish RCBS made a blank with a pilot hole that could be drilled to size. Brass would be ideal. Sigh.

I use the heck out of mine for reduced loads in large bore rifles.
It works great for pistol ammo especially using ball powders.
I am no great pistol shot so the accuracy is ok for me. The rotors are expensive now. I have a full set that took me about 10 years to find because I only paid bottom of the barrel prices 20 years ago.
There was a guy that made an adjustable rotor for them about 15 years ago.
You can also add epoxy to reduce a rotor and you can open a rotor up or drill deeper to increase the volume.

I got one and works great. Very fast and consistent / accurate.

Problem is the drums don't always dispens exactly what the chart says they do. I have a drum that chart said it should dispense 4.2gr titegroup. But it really does 4.4 gr.

Now I have a Dillon xl650 and don't use the lil dandy anymore.

With the bushings, the temperature of the powder has a pretty big effect on their volume.
As you know, in the case of a measure like this, volume affects weight.
This is the same reason BR shooters usually go up a couple of clicks in the afternoon to maintain tune.

Lyman here,we make our own rotors.Pretty neat setup, have a Lyman T mag which holds two,3 die handgun sets. Two of the, think they're called accumeasures?.....sit in modified expanders to allow powder through.

Once you've made a few rotors, and really start looking at these measures, they aren't that complicated.Good luck with your project.
