Lightning Rod Issues for Gun Guys

Same fir everything:
  1. Politics
    1. Legislating morality and safety
    2. Agency law
  2. PC language
  3. Cancel Culture
  4. Soy-boi anything
  5. My so-called toxic masculinity
  6. Taxes
Are we twins brothers from separate mothers???? :D:eek:;)

Caliber debates. That is my lightning rod, the arguments are all stupid, shoot whatever you want and let anyone else do the same.
Do you mean “caliber” debates as in 6.5mm vs 7mm? Or do you mean “cartridge” debates as in 6.5 Creedmoor vs 6.5x47 Lapua?

My pet peeve is that caliber and cartridge have different meanings yet that fact seems to be hard to understand for many.

The arguments that come to mind are 9mm vs 45acp and 270w vs 30-06, so i guess both, seems the arguments are always between different philosophies so cartrige and calibers are different, the way I always took it as they are arguing what is better fast and light or big and heavy.

I guess my hot button issue is people, just all of ya'
I have to be nice and give good customer service all day when inside I loathe all of you with your opinions and accomplishments. And the younger ones that snowflake out when ever you say something. The older ones that think they know better. My kids that don't appreciate me and my wife that wants to eat chicken 9 times a damn week - Arrgggggh
Just Kidding :D

Here I am, sitting at my bench, four shots in the same hole, lining up my fifth shot and someone comes up and asks me, what is the beautiful rifle I am shooting. Don't ask me how I react, you don't want to know.
Yes I do

Same when the shooting coat is on, slung up, laying prone on a mat and they want to know what type of rifle it is.

People who paint wood stocks.

The worst example I can offer is what I saw on a forum (not here) some years ago. A young buck posted pictures of an old but like-new Marlin 336 with beautiful black walnut furniture. He says “I inherited this from my Grandpa. It is pristine. The wood makes it look cheap though.”

What followed was a “tutorial” on how he sanded down the wood, checkering and all, and covered the stocks with truck bed liner. All the replies were like “great job” and “big improvement.”

I'll take a stained and varnished two by four over plastic any day. Heck even laminate.

OK, I do own a few synthetic stocks. I guess they have their place.

I have read each and every reply to the post. Unfortunately, there are some that I agree with. The one point everyone seems to overlook in this current atmosphere of cancel culture is this - simply, everything offends someone. EVERYTHING. My opinion is offensive. Your opinion is offensive. There are people using air that useful might need and I find that offensive. Oh...and I prefer the 870.
