light bullets in a improved

Depending on the barrel 3,700 to 3,900 fps..

You actually did this? If so how did they shoot? I actually had 3250 with the 80's and a 12 twist and they shot sub .1 range, they would go faster but did give you accuracy anywhere close to 3250..... jim

Jim,

yes, I actually did this, but I have to say that my barrel is 30" long. It is a Lilja 3-groove with a 1-14" twist.

I shoot Sierra's 60 gr. H.P. at 3,812 fps. and it will stay in the low 2's at 200 yards and inside 1/2" at 300 yards if I don't have a lot of wind to contend with.

I also shoot Sierra's 80 gr. Flat Base spitzer at 3,318 fps. out of this same rig, and it's accuracy mirrors that of the 60 gr..

I am not a target or bench rest shooter, but I just love anything in 6mm.

I remember trying to shoot ground hogs past 500 with a 22-250 in the wind...lol Drug out the .243 with 100 gr. bullets and Zapped him first shot.... jim
