Leupold ???

I bought a Rem 40XB a few weeks ago and it came with a gloss Leupold straight 16 power scope. It has the adjustable objective and a fine cross hair reticle. Its got a serial number on the bottom, patent number on the eye piece and tall covered turrants but no where does it give the model like VX or Vari-X. Of course its USA made and has the gold ring and Leupold in gold. I'm sure its an older version as so is the rifle and I'm sure it not a fake. Any idea what model it is and approximate value? Or should I just call Leupold?

I would call Leupold. They are staffed for these types of calls and friendly to talk to.

I have a couple of those scopes, it's the M-8 series they were only made for a few years they are very fine target or varmint scopes.

M-8 model worth about $350 or in pristine condition ~ $400.

Thanks Guys!! Nice knowing which model it is. Its in very nice condition. I just pulled it off and replaced it with a variable power scope but I'm sure I can find something to put it on. Thanks again!!

I've got a really nice Rem 700 BDL Varmint in 222 it would look great on!
