Leupold VX-6HD scopes

Gents,

I'm looking at a leupold vx-6HD with the impact 29 illuminated reticle (looks like a Christmas tree). The part number for this scope is LEU 171569. It's a 3-18 variable with 44mm obj. Advertized eye relief is .1" different between 3 and 18 X. Pretty good so far.

Has anyone had any experience with or heard anything about these new scopes.

Incidentally, I have a very similar reticle in my Mark 4 and it's great. With a 100 yard zero I can shoot (.308) to 800 and not dial for elevation, and the windage marks go out to 14 minutes. Gotta be a stiff breeze to hold 14 minutes of wind correction!

Thanks for your thoughts, Happy New Year, and God bless.

Warren

Gents,

How about Sightron? How does their SIII model stack up to the VX-6 line up to about 20 - 25 X? Do both scopes track? Any recommendations?

Thanks, and God bless America

I was told by Leupold yesterday that the HD is being released at shotshow. Most places listing for sale are pre-orders (not in stock)
