Leupold Ultra 10xM3A with ring mounts?

I traded with a ex Army sniper instructor on the Ultra 10X-M3A.I was gonna build a M24 clone being it is an authentic sniper scope but my interest have changed since purchasing it. What would be the best way to get a value on it? I can’t find hardly any information on sales of that scope.

I believe that is the predecessor to the Leupold M4 10x scope. New they retailed for about 1000.00. Not sure if this is of any help at all. Yours may have some collector value due to it's vintage.

Boltfluter is correct. The Ultra's were made by Leupold & Stevens (hence the L&S Inc.) for the military and maybe police. I had an Ultra 16X with mil dots. It came in a plain brown box from the factory. I got mine new from a dealer that bought them on a police letter head PO.

I believe the first two numbers on the serial are the year of manufacture. Yours would be 1990. if I am correct.
Dick Thomas at Premier Reticles told me he would not do reticle changes to the Ultras as they were put together with high strength thread locker. He would do work on the Mark 4's.

Your best bet for value might be some of the sites that discuss the military clone rifles.
That one has nice "character" by the way.

Thanks for the information.The previous owner told me it was used in the Middle East by him and did some “work” with it. The correct mounts and camo would stay that way if I built a clone but I’m into semi .308 that shoot .5 moa right now.Lol he was issued a Knights AR10 while “working” and said it was total trash and actually fell apart on a mission.
