Leupold Scope Question - Pics added

Howdee Folks,

I recently picked used Leupold scope. the only identifying marks I see on it are "24x". I don't know a lot about the Leupold scopes, most of mine are Weavers. Is this the same or perhaps the predecessor to BR-24x?

Any info would be appreciated.

I would think it has Leupold on the obj.bell or under the block in the middle of the tube.All I have seen has the markings.

You're not including much information. Target knobs? Gold metal ring going around the objective with 24x & "Leupold" indent? Locking front ring? Describe the Parallax focusing numbers & "lines" on the objective. A serial number would mean a lot. Type of reticle?

Better still, post a few close up pictures.

Another choice would be to call Leupold and provide them with the serial number.

jim: I can just barely make out what look like reference numbers on the left side of the objective. You're best choice is to contact Leupold & give them the serial number & if it's genuine, and not one "Made in China", they can tell you all about it.

Over the years I've had several, each one a little different. Leupold can tell you exactly what you have.

Appears to be the M8 model. Are the "target turrets" aluminum w/o graduation marks? I had one for a spell, it was a good target scope.

I had one similar if not the same as yours and it was a "Golden Ring" model according to Leupold in 16x.

Sent it back because it wouldn't hold poi, they swapped some internals out but still had the same problem. Shame because it was a great power/weight/size varmint scope.
