Leupold problem

I have a Leupold 6.5x20x50 Long Range Target scope on a rifle I use for pd's over 500yds and 300yd club shoots. I've had it for 3 years and have always had focusing problems and trouble getting consistent groups. It has been sent back to factory and checked OK. I can put one of my VariX III 6.5x20's on it and shoot consistent inch groups at 300yds. I have 2 friends having the same problems. Anyone else having this problem or how to fix it? Is there a better scope option? Thanks for any help.

Thanks RemVS308 that answers some of the problem. Talked to the good people at Leupold today. They are getting scope back,they're paying shipping) to do an extensive test. Satisfaction was guaranteed. This is one reason I own Leupold, plus it's made in the USA
