I have been in the market for a scope i was looking in the price range from 5-600... i stumbled onto a brand new leupold mark 4 4.5-14 lr/t ( on a 223 hunting rig, the power i was looking for more or less) picked it up for 600, as someone had marked the box wrong they said it was suppose to be 999. and as soon as i walked away from counter they were changing price, i had originally gone to just check out the mark ar series with cds.. just curious on if i had made a decent purchase or not hahaha. And any info on them you might have ?

600.00 is a great price for the 40 mm but 600.00 is stealing it if it's a 50mm.

50mm... makes me feel a little better thought maybe I was just being made believe they had " messed up" ....

Call Leupold and have them check the serial number. Many Chinese Mark-4 counterfeits out there.

They do make a target Mark 4 LR/T with target turrets and it is a 40 mm obj. The 50mm with M4 turrets is the tactical model Mark 4. The Mark 4/ M4 50mm scope is the pricier model. It's not considered a target model scope although it may be used by many for that purpose.

well i was originally looking at the mark ar with cds, but while i was looking at them this one was only 50 more... seemed like a much better option from for 100 more

Would still check the serial number with Leupold. The counterfeiters duplicate the boxes and all the literature. No guarantee the big box store didn't get what they thought was a real deal on overruns etc.

You may remember how the US Gov't got taken on millions of dollars of high strength bolts several years ago that were fake.

I have a 4.5-14 LR/T with 30mm tube 40mm lens M1 knobs ,,on a 40 MOA base it has 100 MOA`s on the knob with a 100 yard zero,,I like it a lot,,

I did check with Leupold .. numbers all check out it's legit
