I have 2 NF scopes and I didn't want to spend $2500 on a new scope and saw that Natchez had them for round $1350. I was looking at the 4.5-14x. Can anyone give me their first hand 2cents? Thank you.
Mark 4 ER/T scopes are first focal, far from a vx3 with a black ring.Basically just a VX3 with black paint. Nothing more. For that kind of money you would be way ahead to pick up a clean used Nightforce NXS. Something like a 5.5 x 22 x 50. They come up quite often on the site. Good luck.

I guess it's apparent you or the rep have never used hold offs or hold overs at varying magnification ranges other than full power or the designated half power settings. Not really. First focal versus second focal. So what! I questioned the Leupold rep on this and he said, and I quote, " just a VX3 without the gold ring. Just upgraded turrets.
Straight from Leupold technician. Not my personal opinion. Take it for what it is worth.
My personal opinion is you would still be way ahead with a used NXS.

I'm also pretty sure "IF" some Leupold rep told you this it was in confidence and not something that he wanted spread over the web.Straight from Leupold technician. Not my personal opinion. Take it for what it is worth.

People buy and shoot FFP scopes for a reason, I understand it is not for you. But don't tell someone that wants one to buy an nxs, yeah it's a great scope, have had many, but if the op has an application for FFP, let him buy it.
I think ERT are first focal, LRT are in the 2nd plane. Both Mark 4Im no expert but it appears there are FFP and SFP Mark 4 ERT scopes being closed out right now on EuroOptic and Midway. I have a FFP with mil dot reticle and moa turrets. This configuration would not be my first choice but its what they had on sale about 7 mos ago. Midway has TMR reticle , 2nd FP and moa knobs . Better but still not ideal. Sightron and NF have great moa reticles. Leupold, not so much. Just my opinion. Not sure what OP application is but the 6-24×50 Sightron with 100 moa of elev adjustment is a great scope for the street price.
