Right that's theEFR model most people use for rimfire or air gun. None for high power I guess. thanksI received a catalog in the mail. It shows two models of the 6.5-20:
1" tube, EFR
30mm tube w/ side focus
Both with the fine duplex.
I agree with fkimble. I have two of the EFR's, and they are just fine on a centerfire. I do miss that they don't offer them with the target dot anymore. That was my personal favorite.HOZ53 that 6.5-20 EFR is right at home on a centerfire. Call Leupold, they will tell you that! I managed to pick up a couple 2+ years ago when it was announced they were discontinued. Non of the big mailorder gun places had any, all said discontinued. B&H showed it online for $200 than the others. Ordered one. Got email saying out of stock, asked if I wanted to cancel or wait, eta 30 days. Opted to wait. Sure enough about 30 days it showed up. A year later, Euro-Optics showed them on clearance as a display model, again $200 less than other places who showed out of stock and disco'd. Ordered another one. Showed up a week later new, still in the shrink wrap. Exactly like the other one. But Leupold does seem to advertise them as a 22 scope.
I may try one of leupolds "better" lines like that. don't really want the 34mm rings either. thanksI have moved to the VX5HD line. I have been very happy with them. My only wish was they were 30mm tubes instead of 34 so I could use standard size rings on hunting rifles. Depending on the style of build the bigger style rings are not an issue but these big rings on a more classically styled rifle just looks funny to me. Call me old fashioned.
well I kind of misspoke as I knew you could use the 6.5x20 EFR on a centerfire, but I think Leupold keeps making them because of rimfire and air gun use. Mabie I've missed something but I and, I think most people don't need an EFR on a centerfire. For people that do that's great. thanksHOZ53 that 6.5-20 EFR is right at home on a centerfire. I know it will work but why do you use it on a centerfire?Same here - used a VX 3i EFR for centerfire for a year ~ 3000 rounds.

Just because it was what someone was selling.I know it will work but why do you use it on a centerfire?

That said, I could use it for dry firing in my basement.
